Marsha Irvin
A Trailblazer in Education
A veteran trailblazer in local education has left Las Vegas' Clark County School District, to take on what Andre Agassi calls "exciting times ahead" with Agassi Prep.
Marsha Irvin began January 14, 2009 as the new Chancellor of the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, overseeing elementary, middle, and high school principals, along with the functional areas of finance, human resources, and facilities.
Irvin brings to Agassi Prep a track record for successfully changing the landscape of public education in the Valley. She spent 26 years with the local school district, both in the classroom as a teacher, and later, taking on senior administrative roles. As the Northeast Region Superintendent, Irvin had 51 public schools under her supervision. She is credited with introducing school choice and same gender classes, and establishing a college culture in her region – earning countless honors and awards, and the respect of the community along the way.
Irvin was appointed by Elaine Wynn to the Board of Directors of Nevada's chapter of Communities In Schools, the nation's largest dropout prevention organization. Irvin also serves on the Board of Trustees for Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, Sunrise Children's Hospital, and the President's Advisory Council for the University of Southern Nevada.
Irvin's goal is to establish an environment at Agassi Prep where children are academically and socially skilled to compete in a global world. Irvin is leading students on a path to be unstoppable long after their school days are over.
